Swimwear Trends For Your Next Holiday
July 23, 2018
The summer is well and truly here, and if you're planning on spending any of the season beside a pool or on the beach, you'll need to know what swimwear styles are sizzling right now. With a surprising dose of continual sunshine here in the UK, you don't even need to go on holiday to get your daily dose of vitamin D. That's even more of an excuse to splash out on some of the latest swimwear trends. Here are a few of our favourite poolside looks for men and women for summer 2018.
1) Multi Stripes
Striped swimwear has always oozed a timeless Riviera vibe, but this season's take gets a little injection of colour, swapping the navy and sky blue classics for multicoloured, rainbow stripes. This trend can be seen across an array of swimwear styles, from all in ones and bikinis to men's swim shorts and trunks.
2) Cool Crochet
Crochet has invaded our casuals and now it is making its way into our swimwear. It gives off an earthy, stylish-without-trying feel, especially in natural tones of cream, brown and green. The crochet bikini is a great piece to double up as outerwear, team your top with some jeans to make it work extra hard in your suitcase.
3) Make Some Ruffles
Ruffles made a splash last year, and they're continuing to dominate swimwear this season bringing their dreamy, romantic vibes to your wardrobe. Ruffles on the shoulders are the latest incarnation; look for polka dots and pretty prints to give this look even more of a feminine feel.
4) Hawaiian Tropic
Prints are always a great idea when it comes to giving your swimwear an extra dose of sunshine. This year they're going all out with super bold designs that'll give even the gaudiest Hawaiian shirt a run for its money. Think one-pieces in eyecatching, abstract prints and florals for women, and loud and proud beach shorts in a rainbow of colours for men.
5) Feel Good
Led by the original crinkle creators, Hunza G, the textured swimsuit is about to be the next big thing in swimwear. Crinkled, scrunched and stretchy fabrics are all key here, while ribbed and seersucker fabrics also get a look in. This trend will work hard in your holiday wardrobe: a crinkle swimsuit looks super elegant when paired with some cut-off shorts and classic gold jewellery. Finish the look with our Gold Belgravia or Rose Gold Mayfair watch to make it shine.
